Install WatchMe Package

Install the Managed Package

Beginning is as easy as installing the managed package from the AppExchange or from the installation link provided by the WatchMe team.  We recommend installing for Admins Only (and applying appropriate Permission Sets later), but the choice is yours.  Follow the prompts until the installation is complete and/or you receive an installation success email from Salesforce.

Clone and Assign the Permission Set

The External Client App (ECA), which we will create in the next article, must be assigned to Permission Sets (or profiles) to govern which users can use its credentials.  However, since the WatchMe Permission Set is part of the managed package, it cannot be selected for the ECA (funny Salesforce rule!).  Therefore, we have to clone the WatchMe Permission Set (so the ECA can select it at the appropriate time).

Go to Setup -> Permission Sets and click the Clone button next to the WatchMe Permission Set.  Give it a custom name (e.g., "WatchMe Users") and save it.  This would also be a good time to assign the new cloned Permission set to the appropriate Users.  Generally, this is all Users, so it can also be added to an existing Permission Set Group.

Update Session Settings

To take advantage of WatchMe video capabilities, organizations must utilize the newer Lightning Web Security standard.  To enable this setting, go to Setup -> Session Settings and scroll to the Lightning Web Security section.  Ensure the box is checked and then click Save.  If you are not yet on LWS and would like to learn more, please check out this article (or this one).

Now that the package is installed, Permission Sets are assigned to the appropriate users, , and Session Settings are in place, you are ready to move on to the next step!
