Getting Started

Introduction

Now that you're familiar with what WatchMe does, it's time to get it set up in your own Salesforce org. While WatchMe is simple to use, a few configuration steps are required to unlock its full capabilities. This article outlines the overall setup process and explains how to get up and running quickly.

Set up WatchMe in Three Steps

WatchMe has a number of elements that will make your support process faster and easier.  You can choose to adopt WatchMe at your own pace—start small and expand later, or jump in and configure everything at once. Here's a quick overview of the three setup steps.  Each one delivers a new capability into your Salesforce org.

Step 1: Add Video to Your Support Process

Start here. Install the WatchMe package from the AppExchange and complete a few basic configuration steps. Within minutes, your users will be able to record and submit issue demonstration videos with their Cases (or other records). This gives admins and support teams a clear, firsthand view of the issue, helping you diagnose and resolve problems faster.

Step 2: Enable Auto-Managed Debug Logs

Once video support is working, take the next step by enabling automatic Debug Log capture. Logs help teams understand exactly what's happening behind the scenes, making it easier to identify technical issues and resolve Cases more quickly.

To get this feature working, you’ll configure security settings like Named Credentials and Connected Apps. If this sounds unfamiliar, don’t worry—we’ve got your back. Just follow the steps in the Enable Auto-Managed Debug Logs article. If you run into any trouble, reach us at support@sightlane.com. We're happy to walk through it with you, free of charge.

Step 3: Implement Remote Storage for Files and Logs

For organizations that need more scalability, WatchMe supports integration with external storage platforms like AWS or MuleSoft. This offloads file storage from Salesforce and enables WatchMe to expand beyond the standard 12Mb log limit, allows you to handle virtually unlimited log sizes.

While this step requires a bit more effort, it’s a great option for teams looking to build an enterprise-grade solution. If you already have a back-end system—or want guidance setting one up—just let us know. We’d love to help.
